INSPIRATION TO REALITY: AMY & MICHAEL

Happy Friday! woot! Wanted to close the week out with a custom design we recently created for the wedding of Amy and Michael. You may remember their inspiration board here. Well, this is the final outcome of their pieces which included a ceremony invite, reception invite, rsvp postcard, witness poster and candy bar wrappers (LOVE this idea for a favor!). We also created a handmade fabric banner with their names for them as well. Their wedding turned out so beautiful, fresh and the picture perfect backyard party. They even had mexican food (um, YUM). They were such a pleasure to work with! These loooovely photos are taken by the talented Kate Osborne and for more photos of the wedding visit Kate's blog.
(P.S we've got lots more custom designs to show you! ... stayed tuned!)

THE BOAT THAT ROCKED: PIRATE RADIO

"And the bride is blushing now as the groom is gazing into her eyes. You can almost see Cupid fluttering his wings above their heads...no, that was a seagull"

It's fun, it's bright, it's 60's and it's rock n' roll. Get into it!

COME SAIL AWAY, COME SAIL AWAY,
COME SAIL AWAY WITH ME

"...When I get married, I'm gonna have a sailor dress, but it's going to be a gown, and all my bridesmaids are gonna wear sailor hats...with veils."
-Dionne, CLUELESS

It's like that, but with much more class.

VALENTINE'S DANCE = ROMANCE

Parks and Recreation is easily one of our favorite shows. In my opinion, it may just be the funniest comedy in the Thursday night line-up (yes, this includes our beloved 30 Rock). Last Thursday was the "Galentine's Day" episode and between laughing profusely at everything this guy, this guy and this guy says, I was inspired. Inspired by the Pawnee Senior V-Day Dance, yeah, I typed it.

There is something so great about the over-the-top reds, pinks and hearts that I could not get enough of, even the balloon arch was not too much, it was just right. And I couldn't help but think how G-R-E-A-T a wedding would be in this exact theme. And yeah, you could chic it up a bit, but please please please don't lose that tacky LOVE theme. Because yes, on the one hand it's gaudy but on the other hand it is everything love should be, or we wish it would always be: child-like, naive, colorful and most of all fun. What better way to start your life together than a nostalgic high school-like reception where everyone can let loose, enjoy celebrating and remember what it's like to be a kid.

And maybe one day people will say, "It's the most romantic story ever. It makes The Notebook look like Saw V".
